5th Grade Bible

5th grade Bible will build upon the skills students learned in 4th grade.  We will use the DeepRoots curriculum, which you also have access to online (see link above).  We will focus on the Old Testament accounts and learn what it means to inductively study the Bible using Observation, Interpretation, and Application. Students will learn to defend their faith throughout the year and I encourage you to ask them questions about what they are learning and ways they can be bold in sharing their faith.   We will continue Unit 13 next week and study the historical account of Daniel in Nebuchadnezzar's Court and what Discernment looks like in daily life.  There will be weekly memory verse quizzes and students have those in their Bible folders and have multiple ways to study them.   Verses can  be found on the DeepRoots link above and on the quiz page on iNews.  Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to a wonderful year of studying God's Word together and growing in our faith.

6th Grade Bible

6th grade Bible will build upon the skills students learned in 5th grade.  We will use the DeepRoots curriculum, which you also have access to online (see link above).  We will focus on the New Testament accounts and continue to learn what it means to inductively study the Bible using the Observation, Interpretation, and Application skills they learned last year.  We will  continue Unit 13 next week continuing to study the life and ministry of Paul in the book of Colossians.   There will be weekly memory verse quizzes and students have those in their Bible folders and have multiple ways to study them.  Verses can  be found on the DeepRoots link above and on the quiz page on iNews.   The Romans 12 Challenge has begun!  Students will begin memorizing verses in Romans 12 from now until the end of the school year, with the culmination of reciting all of Romans 12 in May.  Please help them with this challenge and consider doing it alongside your son or daughter.  Romans 12 is our response to what Jesus has done for us and will hopefully stay with them for life! Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to a wonderful year of studying God's Word together and growing in our faith.
